Organisation Types and Selections

Councillors are politicians directly elected for a four year term of office, their role is to serve and represent the community and take policy decisions that reflect the electorate's views; while balancing the interests of both their political party and the council. Their overriding duty is to the whole community and they have the responsibility of engaging and communicating council policy and decisions to the constituents of the ward they represent and the wider community.

Councillors can be selected from the cabinet and following committee type by portfolio:
